I was really recently taken in by Simon Pegg's movies.
Honestly this talented British Comedian actor was not on my radar screen of favourite comedians until i watched that real hilarious movie, "How to lose friends and alienate people"... a real laugh of a movie. "Hot Fuzz" though is not that great but still good comedy acting from Mr Pegg, the movie too surreal for my comfort.
Then lo flicking through all run down sale of DVDs at a shop near to my work place, a movie starring Simon Pegg caught my eye, "Run Fat Boy Run"..... how could i have missed watching this movie before.
As expected i was not disappointed, Simon Pegg played a stirring,funny and love able role in this movie revolving around the London Marathon.
He is good in this kind of role, bumbling, "low achiever" but honestly kind and true to his soul, that's the Simon Pegg at his best.
The Indian(or is it Paki?) landlord of his reminded me of my former Landlord, always "lording" over the rent but still kind hearted to the boot.
My present favourite comedy series though is still "Little Britain" .... am anxiously waiting for the DVD release of the latest series, "Little Britain in the USA".
Back to Simon Pegg... the movie Run fat Boy Run is insanely funny and heartwarming and the movie started with him running away from his wedding!!!
Talking about a real loser and shirker ,somehow that epitomise him well, this is no fairy tale story and you would not expect him to win the London Marathon and beat all those Kenyans.
It is a story that Mr perfect is not always seem as what is portrayed ..the kindness and sincerity of intentions will be finally be seen through by people that you really care most..others are maybe merely side show.
Wonder is there any more Simon Pegg movies out there?
